Thai Self Medication Industry Association (TSMIA) was established and registered as trade association on 22 October 2009. TSMIA aims to support and promote the health industry in non-prescription medicines (OTC), herbal/ traditional medicine and health supplements in Thailand. Other objectives are to promote the engagement of the enterprises related to nonprescription drugs, herbal medicines, and other health products, so that such products in good quality are available and distributed through appropriate channels. And to promote the rights of the people and medical personnel in Thailand for their opportunities to select nonprescription drugs, herbal medicines, and other health products for prevention and initial treatment of diseases. We realize that the responsible self-medication concept would benefit the country. Thus, TSMIA has brought this idea to a wider audience and invite for all in OTC business in Thailand to consider the establishment of their own Association and have their own agenda to improve the self-care and self-medication concept in Thailand, which is one way to support and encourage sustainable good health for Thai people.
